DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

FOSTERING INNOVATIVE ENVIRONMENTS AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

At Rainy Day Recruitment, we are committed to promoting inclusivity and workforce diversity within the Technology, Engineering, and Professional Services sectors. We strongly believe that diversity isn't just ethical; it's a competitive edge that introduces rich ideas, experiences, and perspectives, sparking creativity and driving innovative problem-solving.

Our efforts are particularly concentrated on elevating women and First Nations individuals in STEM fields and leadership positions. By partnering with our clients, we assist them in shaping inclusive work environments, adopting unbiased recruitment methods, and ensuring equal opportunities for all.

Aboriginal

FIRST NATIONS IN STEM

As a Supply Nation-Certified organisation, we champion the advancement of First Nations individuals in STEM disciplines. Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) serves as both an internal roadmap and an external resource for other organisations in formulating and implementing their own RAPs. Additionally, we offer a dedicated UniSA Scholarship aimed at First Nations students pursuing STEM studies, and are active contributors to Lot Fourteen's First Nations Entrepreneur Hub.

Women-IT

WOMEN IN STEM

With more than 20 years of experience, our female co-founder has skillfully navigated the male-dominated technology landscape. We're deeply committed to transforming STEM fields to achieve better gender representation. This includes our collaboration with Inspiring Rare Birds and Her Tech Path, where we offer both support and active participation to effect meaningful change.

Reconciliation - Walking the Talk

As a majority Indigenous-owned and woman-led organisation, we are proud to have created a team of people from a diverse range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

We have created a structured approach to advance reconciliation through our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), which provides a framework to be inclusive in our work and contribute to national reconciliation. Our current Innovate RAP, which sets the course for realising our vision for reconciliation has been formally endorsed. Through the commitments in this RAP, we're aiming to deepen our understanding of the sphere we influence, while identifying the most effective ways to further reconciliation.

The focus of our Innovate RAP is to develop and strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are actively engaging our staff and stakeholders in the reconciliation journey. Additionally, we're committed to developing and testing innovative strategies to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

RAINY DAY RECRUITMENT ABORIGINAL SCHOLARSHIP

We have partnered UniSA to offer an annual scholarship to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying STEM or Business.

Alongside financial support, we provide recipients with mentoring, networking and internship opportunities, giving young First Nations people a boost in their career of choice. Inaugural recipient Jaden Jufferman is using it to fast-track his progress towards a career in Space or Defence.

The scholarship is open to any Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in their second year of a STEM or Business degree at the University of South Australia.

DIVERSITY CONSULTATION & PROMOTION

We are advocates of people being hired and treated fairly, regardless of their differences. We have developed tools and systems to improve awareness and education, overcome unconscious bias and ensure people are hired on their skillset.

We freely and openly share this knowledge with our clients to support them in their journey of Reconciliation, implement and promote D&I initiatives, and create inclusive hiring practices.

DON’T BE A STRANGER!
SAY HELLO.
